We have now had a series of visits where we either went down to see my mum and dad, or they came up here to see us. These all went very well, and although the first couple were strained, things are much better now.
Originally the problem may have stemmed from my skin illness last year that she saw and also she observed that I was always sleeping, and looked tired and unhappy.
All of the past 4 occasions I have seen her she has commented on how well I look, so that appears to be handled, and I do for the most part feel happier and less “stressed” than I was last year.
My dad recently helped me with a finance cycle, and he is currently paying my loan for me, and while I am looking to improve my income, he has said that he is ok with doing that for me, although it is understood that this will not be indefinitely, and the money will be paid back. The loan is for £6,500 and is £150 per month. I owe £600 to my dad in payments (Feb, March, April, May). My mum has only said that she does not want me to get into that much debt again, I have promised not to do so.
In the most recent visit, mum and dad came up here for the weekend launch of the Midlands art centre and we visited this together, the day was cold, but we had a good walk around went on the ride on train in cannon hill park, and had a bite to eat. This went well and built on the ARC that had been built up over past few visits. Only challenge was when Cameron Hit my dad in the private parts when they were leaving as he did not want them to go home. After some 2WC it seems to be all ok. Mum just commented that perhaps Cameron needed some more “Ground Rules”.
She did mention that she thought he was “ruling my life” previously, and that she was glad to hear that things were different now. I explained that when he first came home from Intensive care I was a little more liberal with him, to allow him to feel like he could have control over his own environment, and his own things, but that he was making o progress understanding and appreciating what good discipline was.
Prior to this we went down to see them on Easter Sunday in London by train, and we went on the London Eye, with the help of my sister blagging free entry as she used to work for Merlin Entertainments (company that owns the Eye)
We saw my sister Carina, brother Dominic, Mum, and Dad. It was a good day and mum sent a gushing text saying how lucky she and my dad were. No mention of being concerned about scientology, or my working hours or anything like that.
Prior to this visit we had a comm cycle about my work, and she voiced her concern over that fact that I was “better than that” working at a cinema. However when I was at the coffee shop and hotel she was worried over hours being long and that I was being “put on” by management to do more than was necessary.
However, in present time we spoke briefly the other day, and she has ordered a copy of Cameron's school photo. She also sends me emails regularly with job suggestions from job sites. This is as she knows I am looking for alternative work.
My brother goes off to Canada for a year at the end of the month and My mum is struggling to come to terms with this, she is however very happy that my brother Steve is coming back from SA at the end of July, as his wife has got a good job as a radiographer in a London Hospital. He emigrated 3 or 4 years ago, and has always said that he is coming back. My mum has commented however that she seems destined to never have her family all together again as one of us is off in another country at one time or another.
She has said that Carina speaks to her every day, or at least every week, and that us boys are not very good at doing that.
I recall that even when I had a great job in radio she was always obsessing over the fact that I was being “put on” or taken for granted on the hours and work I was doing. In the same token though, when she was the legal secretary at a solicitors firm that did MOD cases she never got home before 10pm and did loads of extra hours and tasks because she enjoyed it and was being well paid to do the work.
She floats up and down the tone scale very easily, and keys in the loss of her mum and dad very easily, she has said that she feels she must be a bad mother because all of her kids are living as far away as possible. However in the same breath she will admit that she was the one who told Steve to go to SA after Yvette, whom he later married.
So she needs constant reassurance that we love her and that she and dad did a good job. There were big fights, especially between me and my dad, but pretty much all of that is now water under the bridge. She has said several times that she feels she lost me years ago. And to a certain degree that is true, but then again the contents of my confessional and my PC folder are the real reason I went out of comm with them. I have tried to handle this with her, but she seems determined to carry that “guilt” to her grave.
All in all, it's very much more positive now, and really the key is to maintain a good roads, good weather handling per the HCOB, and maintain good comm and regular visits.

Before I became a Scientologist 12 years ago I was in a dead-end job with few prospects, mainly as a result of communication difficulties. I was introduced to a Scientology communication course by a friend which really worked and I now run a successful financial services company dealing, and therefore communicating, with clients all over the U.K. I also use administration technology discovered by L. Ron Hubbard, which has enabled me to expand the business into a thriving concern. Since being in Scientology both my wife and I have learnt to be more and more cause over life and we have a very fulfilling relationship by achieving our goals in life together.

H ello, my name is Jenny Scarfe Beckett, and here is a little bit about myself: I was born in 1945, soon after the Americans dropped the atomic bomb on Nagasaki. I was three weeks premature, as my brother had died a month earlier and my mother had gone into shock. I grew up in the era of the 'Cold War' and the 'four minute warning' (the amount of time you would have before being hit by a nuclear missile heading in your direction). Despite all this, I was a happy child right up to the time I went to school because I had very loving parents who did their best to give me a good home life. Primary School wasn't so bad, but when I went to Grammar School I became increasingly worried and depressed about the world I lived in, and developed very severe headaches, which were diagnosed as migraine. In retrospect, I wish I had known Scientology Study Technology and the Barriers to Study, I would have saved myself from a whole bundle of grief. As it was, I accepted the standard treatment for migraine in the early '60s. The medications prescribed didn't rid me of my headaches and I became quickly addicted to the strongest painkillers that were available to me. By the time I got to university, the war in Vietnam was at its worst and the world looked a very sad place. I tried to cheer myself up with anti-depressants, get to sleep with tranquilizers, lose weight with amphetamines, and stop the headaches with painkillers. After I got married and had children, I developed allergies to various foods and household chemicals. I knew that the illnesses and mood swings I suffered from came under the heading of psychosomatic illness. I knew that from all the books I had read on the subject and from my family doctor! Then in 1984 family life was shattered by the death of my father from a heart attack. We were devastated and just could not come to terms with the new situation. A friend of mine then tried to help me with my grief. He gave me a copy of the book Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health to read, in case I should find anything useful in it for me. I have to say that this was exactly the book that I had been searching for, but didn't know it. It answered so many questions for me on the exact nature of the mind in relation to the body.[End]

[Load more....]I visited my local Church of Scientology and soon found out that it was possible to do something about improving my life. One of my first actions was to do the 'Purification Rundown' which effectively removed all the distress caused by many years of accumulated drug residues. This proved to be a major turning point. I had never felt so well, or had so much energy in all my life. After that, I never looked back. I decided that if such a simple action could cause such a dramatic improvement, then I should definitely investigate and study the works of L. Ron Hubbard. Who knows what else I would find to help improve my life and that of my family and friends? I have been studying and applying Scientology Technology for 12 years now. In that time I have become a very 'well' person, who has a lot of energy for living. One of my proudest achievements was to be able to help my children with their own schooling. I decided that history was NOT going to repeat itself and moved them to a school that uses both Hubbard's Study Technology and the precepts of the 'Way to Happiness' as part of it's curriculum. Both children enjoyed their student years and have come away with many awards and prizes. Neither of my children have ever taken street drugs. They didn't need to, they both have self-confidence and the ability to tell right from wrong. Many of their peers at university and Art School weren't so fortunate. Another achievement concerns the subject of death. I came across a great deal of very helpful information in Scientology literature which dispelled years of despair and false information on this subject. I had grown up with a great deal of attention on my dead brother and a constant feeling of 'deathfulness'. With Scientology counseling all those unwanted conditions have totally disappeared, never to return. When I looked after my mother through her last months of terminal cancer, I was able to do so with real love and attention to her and to the rest of my family. We totally avoided a re-run of my fathers death. I've worked in a Study Technology school as an Arts and Crafts teacher. I've always enjoyed producing my own artwork, especially portraits and jewelry, but I have just as much fun and a great deal of success teaching two-dimensional and three-dimensional Art using L. Ron Hubbard's advises to teachers and artists. I've been able to help students produce exam work of very high quality - work they have enjoyed creating, even though they had to spend long, hard hours at it. In fact I haven't found a young person yet who wasn't capable of creating in the Arts in some way. I've worked in a Study Technology school as an Arts and Crafts teacher. This wasn't the only pupil that he married! He married Nicola Tuppholme. She was his student for like four years. And she is the daughter of Veronica Tuphulme.
McQuade was in a relationship with Shiona Foxnes (another teacher)(who later died from cancer). She resigned from the Church - she was disgusted by the cult's abuses. McQuade wanted to carry on using her for sex, but an RTC mission went in and ordered him to severe ties with her. He was mortified.

I have been in Scientology 38 years. Since I first started my life has steadily improved. I get on better with people, I am more interested in what is going on around me than in myself and my problems - not that I have many problems these days. When I get one it is normally very quickly handled without undue worry or stress. I am healthy and active, I would say, much more so then the average 66 year old. Any physical ache or pain is quickly handled and I haven't needed to take a single drug in the last 36 years. Instead, my husband and I, help each other with Scientology assists. Scientology has never let me down, so why should I look for anything else?

[Load more....]Folk music was always close to my heart but after an initial stab at it in my teens I gave up and stopped singing. 30 years later after reading Art by L. Ron Hubbard and doing a course that taught me how to study properly I picked up a guitar and started to study guitar again. My voice was gone from 30 years of non use but following what I learnt about study (balancing theory with practical and doing things on a gradient) I overcame that 30 years of non use and now sing and play every day of the week. I perform regularly at clubs and festivals and I have no problems with nerves. I can communicate what I want with my singing and playing. I can create an effect for my audience that they really like. It is always a win to find you have created a moment of pleasure for someone with your music and they want you to do it again. My wins with music and singing come directly from using what I have learnt in Scientology in my life. But then that is the thing about Scientology, you can use what you learn to enhance your life and improve its quality.
