About Myself
Hello, my name is George Baillie, and here is a little bit about myself:
I got into Scientology in September, 1970. I was on Academy Level 0, as a public and joined staff in the Toronto Organization in May 1971. I continued my auditor training but as a member of the Technical Training Corps in that organization. I trained up to Class 5 Graduate and audited 55-60 hours per week. I went to the Apollo in Sept 1973 and did the Saint Hill Special Briefing Course and other courses. I graduated and returned to Toronto in January 1975. I stayed on staff until May 1983. I have been a full time Field Staff Member and Field Auditor since that time. I have also operated a Scientology Mission in Halifax, Nova Scotia from 1988 until 1994. My case level is OT 8.
My Success in Scientology
I trained under L. Ron Hubbard on the Sea Organization Motor Vessel, Apollo and learned an incredible amount about counseling a pre-clear. The competence I gained from this and Scientology helped me in every area of my life.

Gray Levett is Back From The Front - Amateur Photographer - news
Monday 25th June 2007
Gray Levett
I often reflect upon the odd things that shape one's life without one really knowing it. My interest in photography was ignited after I saw Michelangelo Antonioni's movie Blow-Up, in which David Hemmings plays Thomas, a successful, yet bored, English fashion photographer. The film has been described as a baffling, beautiful critique of the 'swinging London' of the 1960s. I have held Blow-Up in some affection since that time.
In my teens, my interests were broadly divided into music, photography, reading and film. I read voraciously and carried a camera wherever I went. In those bygone days I walked almost everywhere, often covering seven to ten miles per day. Walking enables you see things others speeding past in their cars do not. I took roll after roll of film, shooting rock bands in London's sweaty clubs, and then I would escape into the forests. I enjoyed myself immensely but had little idea what the future held except that somehow photography and music would, I hoped, become a part of it.
Blow-Up was released during an extraordinary period of cultural change. The music of the mid-1960s was new and exciting. One band, The Soul Agents, became local heroes, especially after introducing a new singer named Rod Stewart. Rod, himself, snuck my cousin and me into gigs in our hometown under the improbable assertion that we were roadies. I was determined to capture this atmosphere on film and reasoned that perhaps the equipment I desired might be more affordable if I worked in a camera shop.
My first job in the photographic world was at Hartle Photographic, a camera shop in Bournemouth. The proprietor was not only knowledgeable of cameras and photography but possessed an old-fashioned psyche that pursued with absolute conviction the concept of pre-Second World War methods of dealing with customers. He worked like a drill sergeant and put his staff through a similar regime, involving us in daily cleaning, dusting and presentation. He also demanded we show customers impeccable manners and unflappable professionalism at all times.
The hardest part of this apprenticeship was the daily quiz. He would walk up unannounced and say something like 'Focal plane shutter – definition?' If you lagged with your answer it was off to the nearest photographic dictionary, and you would go back and forth between study and reciting the answer until you had it right. This went on for nearly a year, and for the rebel in me it was a hard bullet to bite. Then about a year later, something unexpected happened.
I moved to London and went for an interview at a photographic store in W1. I was questioned intensively and my responses were immediate, confident and without hesitation. All my studying of photographic nomenclature and learning how to provide a professional service suddenly clicked. I realised that my much-cursed boss had given me a precious gift. He made me competent in a subject I had little prior knowledge in, and I was prepared to deal with nearly any query. Most importantly, he taught me that a full knowledge of one's trade and complete professionalism are tools that can open doors. The one thing I have noticed over the years is that the most successful shops have training programmes on these key elements as a matter of importance.
For the record my old boss's name was Mr. Hartle. He had a first name but I would never have dreamed of using it, and even today I cannot bring myself to call him by his first name. Somehow it would not be right. It might break just the spell.
Gray Levett is the co-founder of Grays of Westminster the exclusively Nikon dealer, as well as the editor of Nikon Owner magazine. He started his career as a photographer and his work has appeared on album covers, book dust jackets and in magazines all over the world. He has been involved with the Nikon brand since 1971 and is an acknowledged expert on the history of Nikon, having written extensively on the subject. He is a member of the London Press Club, the Explorers Club, the Institute of Directors (IoD), the Nikon Historical Society and the Royal Photographic Society for whom he has lectured.

"Craig Jensen is a computer programmer. He is also the Founder and Chairman of one of the most successful software companies in the information technology (IT) marketplace: Diskeeper Corporation"
- written by Craig Jensen
Two former executives have been waging a court battle against Diskeeper, alleging the software company's CEO, a Scientologist, practiced religious discrimination. As it turns out, they have documents intended to prove it.
The company's former CIO and Automation Planning Officer failed to injoin Diskeeper from using the teachings of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard in the administration of the company. Now the Burbank, California company is going for the legal jugular, seeking summary dismissal of the case.
Amid this legal tussle, plaintiffs attorney Barry Kaufman filed a legal declaration containing the text of a "Diskeeper Company Handbook." You can read it in full here. In a nutshell, it has CEO Craig Jensen (pictured) speaking in the style of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard — and citing him directly.
Take the three-page excerpt below. It is part of what Jensen dubbed an "ESI (Executive Software International) Policy Directive," nomenclature not unlike Hubbard's "HCO (Hubbard Communications Office) Policy Letter."
And sure enough, right there at the top of the document, Jensen specifically cites two HCO PLs, of 1984. It goes on to echo Scientology's cosmo-apocalyptic language ("the situation here on Earth is one of not-so-quiet desparation"); intergalactic imagery ("a star-high goal"); and megalomaniacal ambition ("I have... set forth a goal... for the creation of a new civilization here on Earth").
Hubbard and his teachings are name-checked constantly — in 10 of 19 paragraphs.
It remains to be seen whether a court will accept the manual as evidence of religious bias. But it makes at least one thing clear: If the market for disk defragmentation software dries up, Jensen could probably develop a reasonably lucrative sideline in science fiction. Or the enthusiastic writer could just start a religion of his own.

I work in the computer networking industry in sales which I believe I'm good at and love, and also have had a business/hobby of buying and selling diamonds which is something that I just fell into and has been a lot of fun (and very profitable).I like fast cars (unusually for girls I suppose) and have owned and loved three Lotus's (two Esprits and one Elan Plus II) and having thought I had got them out of my system I found I might not have... for anyone that's curious it's not about the speed, it's about the aesthetics of the car :-) Other than that, I like shopping, keeping up to date on my field of sales, games with an element of skill that exercise the grey matter, the internet and I spend too much money on eBay!
Roz Bennetts | Xing
xpertprofileI grew up in North London spending my first two years living in a mansion house where my parents were caretakers. My father was an artist and he and my mother struggled for the first few years with the unpredictable income from his exhibitions. Reluctantly after realising it didn’t matter how good his paintings were people just weren’t going to buy them in enough volume to support a growing family he took a job as a telephone operator working night shifts; a job that he hated but that he stuck at for 20 years.
I went to St. James primary and infant school in North London until I was eleven which was to be the longest that I stayed in one school. Unfortunately my parents like so many others chose to separate and I spent the next few years going from one secondary school to another as I moved between them. I think I attended seven secondary schools in all which was difficult as each school was invariably at a different point of the curriculum. At fifteen and at my seventh school in four years I gave up on trying to learn anything and decided to get a job. I was living in Belsize Park at the time and I got a job as a sales assistant in a chemist called Belsize Pharmacy on Haverstock Hill working for a Mr. Maurice Cohen who paid me ‘under the counter’ until I was at proper school leaving age. Belsize Pharmacy is now a branch of BootsAs well as being in a girly paradise with lots of make-up it was there that I learned that my future was to be in sales. I would be offended if anyone came into the shop without buying anything and though some must have thought I was a pest no-one complained and I would often add 30% to a whole days takings by persuading a lady to let me loose on her face with the testers and she would usually buy what I had used on her. Having decided that my future lay in sales and determined to make a success of myself I spent the next couple of years trying to find my feet taking various telesales jobs usually on a commission only basis. I hadn’t learned how to differentiate yet between a quality sales role and a bad one so it was fortunate that I got a job in a sales recruitment agency in Finsbury Park aptly named Park Recruitment where I did learn that there were actually companies that would pay you a basic salary and train you; and that some of these companies were considered to be the perfect place to start a sales career. Of course some of those doors were closed to me due to having no qualifications but I learned that Rank Xerox would take people into their training corps without qualifications as long as they had some sort of respectable sales experience behind them. Such then became my goal and I tactically next took a position at the Evening Standard selling advertising space where I did well, got promoted and watched the ads in the paper every day for the next Rank Xerox intake. By now I had the requisite experience under my belt and I had just passed my driving test when the next ad for Rank Xerox appeared - and right there I began my sales career ‘proper’. Based out of the West London Branch, Northdale House on the North Circular Road (now a TraveLodge) I became ‘Xeroid’ as those of us who worked for Rank Xerox called each other. And for the next three years or so I had a great time selling photo-copiers, fax machines and word processors, gallivanting around London making and spending a lot of money and buying my first home. After those early milestones things pretty much went according to plan, my sales career evolved and I like to think that I became very good at my work. For one reason or another the idea of leading a sales team didn’t appeal to me as I liked being on the front line too much (and still do) rolling with the punches and enjoying the exhilaration of pulling off a major win against all odds and steep competition.
After my great start at Rank Xerox I next got on to the computer networking wave at its outset and I’ve stayed there ever since, apart from very recently where I stepped off while considering whether or not to make a permanent move to the USA. Not being in a position to take a permanent role with only a 90 day visa I made a living by buying and selling diamonds something I had done as a hobby prior to this and today my creations grace the wedding fingers of scores of happy ladies up and down the country. However after that entrepreneurial episode and realising that my future did not lie overseas I was happy to come back to the UK to find a role in a good company back in my old industry. As it transpired after a longish search I accepted an offer to go back to one of my old companies, nscglobal (which is where I am from March 2011).

She's reading from Hubbard Communications Office Policy Letter , "Celebrity Centre" (originally issued as a Flag Order on 22nd February 1970)
Most of my recent career has been in roles where I've developed all my business from scratch and this has been predominantly within the finance marketplace in the City.
