I have spent the past 3 years exploring different styles and aspects of photography as well as developing my own art work. I now have existing contracts with a number of companies which cover anything from Interior Design, Boxing, Acting portfolios and Product Photography. I am currently working on expanding the Events and PR aspects of Photography as well as building my other company Darcy Wedding Photography up to the point of photographing luxury Weddings both in England and abroad. I have already worked across England, in Italy, France and in America through both companies and I enjoy traveling so incorporating it all together is where I am heading.

Darcy Wedding: Why was this name chosen? ‘Interview’. (Very much tl;dr)

Where did the name of Darcy wedding photography come from?
Sam: It’s Sarah’s fault. Ask her.
Sarah: Hey that’s not fair. You like it too. But yes, I may have an unhealthy obsession with Jane Austen. Plus everyone wants a Mr Darcy in their lives right? I guess I’m just a hopeless romantic!
Why wedding photography?
Sam: I was working on a number of different types of photography from boxing to children to commercial and then I helped a friend on a wedding and fell in love with it. Every wedding is different but the thing I love is sharing the journey with the couple from the pre wedding nerves and anticipation to the exchange of the vows and the love for each other to the celebration of the first day of their married lives together. It is the sense of excitement and happiness and capturing the love between them that makes it all worth it.
Sarah: Oh and I’m the hopeless romantic?
What are the special touches that you bring to a wedding?
Sarah : Both photographers being women we work on creating a close connection with the bride before the wedding so that when we arrive on the day to photograph her getting ready we are already well known and the bride is comfortable with us. We are fun and artistic but we are not too out there and are very down to earth so we fit in well with the bride and groom and also the guests.
Sam: I think also being women we understand what women need and want. We have done everything from putting on the veil to adjusting the dress to fixing make up and putting on grooms corsages. We also have a lot of experience in the “now we’re supposed to’s” of the day and often end up helping the bride and groom to make the wedding flow well and ensure they remain relaxed and enjoy their day.
What is your style?
Sarah: From our first meeting with the bride and groom we take into account what they are looking for and what type of people they are. We then work with this and try to bring out their character and build on that so that we really capture them and the details they have put into the wedding.
Sam: I would say we have a basic style that we follow of a mixture of formal and reportage but we focus on bringing out the personality of the group and the style of the wedding. If it’s formal we work on traditional classy pictures, if it’s relaxed we go for the more fun playful pictures. Being best friends has helped us bring a relaxed, fun yet professional edge to our approach. We think alike and work discreetly around the couple and guests to provide a full story of the day.
What was your favourite moment of a wedding you have photographed? Sarah: Has to be Del Boy! We photographed a wedding where the groom had booked a 'Del Boy' look alike with out telling the bride. He arrived with a magician (she knew about him) and they both spent two hours entertaining the guests between the end of the wedding breakfast and the arrival of all the evening guests. It just smoothed over that time period. The Del Boy was perfect and had everyone talking and interacting with each other and the bride screamed with excitement when he walked in. Sam: I agree, Del Boy was great. I do think the biggest surprise I had was when we went to photograph a wedding in LA and the tradition is that the bride and groom smash the cake in each others faces after cutting it instead of feeding it to each other. While this is very funny and all done in good humour the cake had been died blue and stained the brides tongue and face. After some quick thinking we managed to get it off her face and then made all the female guests dye their tongues too and took a photo of it. Could have been a disaster but turned out to be great fun!
What is the furthest you have travelled for a wedding? Sam: As mentioned above we have been to LA. That was a fast turn around! But we have also been to Italy, Scotland and a number of places in the UK to photograph weddings. Sarah: We are of course very happy to travel. We like beaches, hint hint!

Hi there.
First of all, how do you sleep at night insulting all those people who go about their lives like everyone else and found a solution in their problems by applying scientology.? What upset you this much that you have to put up this site, when obviously you have no idea what you are talking about? second, as you might have guessed, I am a scientologiest, and I went to greenfields school, and unlike what you stated, I am not in the Sea org neither am I brainwashed or dont have acess to "evidence" (believe it or not, I do know how to use the internet) and I recived an amazing eduction in this school that allowed me to sucessfully complete my GCSEs and Alevels. Why are you out to upset me personally, you dont know anything about me and therefore can not judge anything. And also, you are a coward! At least put you face on here like you put ours! Oh and Mark Mc Quade never shouted at me either (put I guess thats just a minor detail amongs so many other things you got wrong).. Seriously, get a life and sort out your own issues first! I wonder wether you are going to post my post..? well, I guess all that is left to say is fuck you and I hope that that is not the way you treat all the people that cross your way.. nina
